Suspect who took bag found in Alanya and threw it into the sea arrested
Vedat D., who makes a living collecting waste on the streets of Alanya, Antalya, was detained on allegations he took a mobile phone and money from a bag he found on the road.
Vedat D. (62), who allegedly took a mobile phone and money from a bag he found on the street in the Alanya district of Antalya, was arrested.
The incident took place in Cumhuriyet Mahallesi, and Vedat D. makes a living collecting waste on the streets. According to the allegation, the suspect took the bag he found on the road and removed the mobile phone and money inside.
The bag was emptied and then thrown into the sea, after which the suspect disappeared. The Turkish citizen who lost her bag reported the situation to the police.
Following the report, teams from the Alanya District Police Department launched an investigation. Examining security cameras in the area, the teams identified the person who took the bag as Vedat D.
As a result of physical surveillance, the police apprehended the suspect on the coast and took him into custody. After completing the procedures at the police station, Vedat D. was referred to the courthouse.
The suspect was arrested by the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace and sent to prison.
