Addressing party members gathered in front of the TBMM Dikmen Gate, CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel said, "They were going to sabotage the group meeting, they were going to hand the podium to an appointed person rather than an elected one. I watched with my heart in my mouth. You stood firm against those unjust and unlawful acts. Well done to all of you."

If it weren’t for you, the place we call home would have seen people who shouldn’t even pass the party’s street at 7 a.m. on a Sunday, now standing at the Parliament’s door trying to sabotage the group meeting. The podium would have been handed over to an appointed leader, not an elected General Chairman. Today, we witnessed scenes that made our hearts race; you confronted them. Those unworthy of the party suddenly appeared.
Those who want to stand on the right side of history and in the right place, you also shielded yourselves. Well done to all of you. From now on, no one should try to gain legitimacy with gathered crowds. The millions here stand against you. ‘VISITOR BAN IMPOSED’ For this reason, I felt both gratitude and great embarrassment towards you. The Parliamentary Presidency imposed a visitor ban against negative scenes.
Your presence here is to protect the party’s law, the ballot box, and your future. ‘I WILL NEVER SURRENDER’ The group hall has been deprived of your honorable presence. However, you fulfilled your duty so well that it has been etched into the party’s history in an unforgettable way. I am proud of all of you. I will never surrender and will not let you down.
