Industry and Technology Minister Kacır announced that Istanbul's former Atatürk Airport terminal buildings will be transformed into a massive technology and entrepreneurship center. The initial phase of the project, named "Terminal Istanbul," opens this month.
In his statement, Minister Kacır said the center will be the world's largest technology entrepreneurship hub. He noted that, upon the instruction of President Erdoğan, the terminal buildings of Atatürk Airport are being turned into a technology center that will serve Turkey in the most powerful way.

A massive 200,000 square meter center
Kacır noted that the first phase of Terminal Istanbul alone covers 5,000 square meters, and when completed it will span over 200,000 square meters. "We aim to bring it fully online next year," he said, adding that the hub will also be a social living space with an AI and software school, a science center, exhibition halls, restaurants, and cafes.

Unique opportunities for entrepreneurs
Kacır said that at Terminal Istanbul, entrepreneurs will be able to join acceleration programs and access various funding mechanisms. "We are building infrastructure that will allow them to quickly commercialize their prototypes," he stated. He also noted that the center will host entrepreneurs and investors from around the world.

Global collaborations
Minister Kacır said they are collaborating with many international acceleration programs, notably the U.S.-based Techstars. He emphasized that the goal is for Terminal Istanbul to become a global hub that brings together both local and foreign entrepreneurs and investors.
A call to young entrepreneurs
Addressing young entrepreneurs, Kacır said, "Turkey is a place where dreams come true. Our youth should not give up on their entrepreneurial ambitions; this was built for them." Noting that more than 60 startups have already applied for the center, Kacır added that the ultimate goal is to host thousands.
