Turkish Airlines (THY) has finalized an order agreement with Boeing covering up to 150 737 MAX aircraft as part of its long-term fleet growth strategy.
The agreement was concluded at a signing ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in New York, where he was visiting for the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Reached after negotiations that have continued since 2025, the agreement is Turkish Airlines’ largest single-aisle aircraft order from Boeing to date.
Under the order, 100 Boeing 737-8 aircraft were ordered on a firm basis, while THY was granted options for 50 additional Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The agreement also gives the company the option to switch to the larger 737-10 model in the 737 MAX family, depending on its needs.
The new aircraft are expected to strengthen Turkish Airlines’ short- and medium-haul network and contribute to its Istanbul-based global growth strategy.
THY and Boeing expand cooperation
Murat Şeker, chairman of Turkish Airlines’ Board and Executive Committee, said the new 737 MAX aircraft would provide greater efficiency and flexibility in operations and support the airline’s extensive Istanbul-based flight network.

Cooperation between THY and Boeing will not be limited to aircraft procurement. The two companies are also carrying out work to develop Türkiye’s aviation ecosystem, including capability development, technology and knowledge sharing, human resources and new industrial opportunities.
The new agreement further expands aviation cooperation between the two companies following THY’s 2025 agreement with Boeing for 75 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The fleets of Turkish Airlines and AJet currently include more than 200 Boeing aircraft, including 737 MAX, 737 NG, 787 Dreamliner, 777 and 777 Freighter models.
