Trabzonspor signs Aral Şimşir from Midtjylland
Trabzonspor has signed 24-year-old left winger Aral Şimşir from Danish club Midtjylland for a transfer fee of 12 million euros and a salary of 2.2 million euros.
As part of its transfer activities for the new season, Trabzonspor has added 24-year-old left winger Aral Şimşir from Danish side Midtjylland to its squad.
After lengthy negotiations, the two sides agreed on a 12 million euro transfer fee and a 2 million euro bonus. The player signed a four-year contract with an annual salary of 2.2 million euros.
A Galatasaray bluff in the negotiations
During the transfer process, the Midtjylland side, in an attempt to raise the transfer fee, claimed through an agent that Galatasaray was also interested in Aral Şimşir. In response, Trabzonspor Vice President Zeyyat Kafkas directly phoned Galatasaray executive Abdullah Kavukcu.
During the call, Kavukcu made it clear that Galatasaray was not at the table for the Aral transfer. After obtaining this information, Trabzonspor went back to the Danish club and stated they would not increase the fee, completing the deal at the originally offered amount.
Aral Şimşir is expected to arrive in Trabzon today to sign the official contract.
