Turkish President Erdoğan congratulates women’s volleyball team on Euro title

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated the women’s national volleyball team on winning the European championship.

In a statement posted on his social media account, Erdoğan said the national team had achieved an important success by winning the European championship and made the Turkish people proud.

Turkey defeated Italy 3-2 in the final of the 2026 Women’s European Volleyball Championship to win the tournament for the second consecutive time. The final, played at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall in Istanbul, lasted five sets.
