The Turkish Red Crescent delivered 1000 personal hygiene kits as part of humanitarian aid efforts for those affected by the earthquake in Venezuela.
In cooperation with the Venezuelan Red Cross, Red Crescent teams delivered 500 kits directly to earthquake victims at a camp in the Playa Grande area of La Guaira state on Tuesday. The remaining 500 kits were handed over to state authorities for distribution.

The aid delivery ceremony was attended by Turkey's Ambassador to Caracas Naci Aydan Karamanoğlu, La Guaira Governor José Alejandro Terán, representatives of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), and the leader of the Turkish humanitarian aid teams, Muhammed Bahtiyar.
Ambassador Karamanoğlu stated that Turkey continues to stand by Venezuela and that the Turkish Red Crescent had delivered 1000 aid packages to earthquake victims. He noted that other Turkish institutions, including the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and AFAD, would continue their support for the earthquake victims.

La Guaira Governor Terán thanked Turkey for its solidarity and emphasized that these aids strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
The aid packages featured the message: "From the Turkish people to the Venezuelan people... With our best wishes, full of love and solidarity."
Venezuela was shaken by two separate earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale on June 24. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced on June 26 that the direct material damage caused by the earthquake was approximately $6.7 billion. As search and rescue efforts continue in the country, there are concerns about the rising number of dead and injured.
