Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry condemned “in the strongest terms” a raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremist groups under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
“It is clear that the Netanyahu government aims to further inflame tensions in the region and undermine efforts for peace and stability through violations and provocations targeting Muslim holy sites,” the ministry said, reiterating its call for the international community to take deterrent measures against Israeli practices that violate the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate and the Palestinian news agency WAFA, 1,143 Israelis entered the Al-Aqsa compound through the Moroccan Gate under police protection on the second day of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot and performed Talmudic rituals near the Qattanin Gate. Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the Western (Al-Buraq) Wall the same day.
