12 million 325 thousand liras provided to 35 projects
Under decision No. 2026/5 of the Cinema Support Board, 6 million 20 thousand liras was allocated to 14 short film production projects. Six animated film production projects received 2 million 825 thousand liras, while 13 screenwriting and dialogue-writing projects received 2 million 480 thousand liras.

A total of 1 million liras was allocated to two project development projects. The total support to be provided by the General Directorate of Cinema will contribute to the development of new screenplays and the production of short films and animated works.
Annual funding increased in four support areas
Total funding allocated to short film production in 2026 reached 10 million 694 thousand liras. Annual support for animated film production stood at 4 million 308 thousand 500 liras, while support for screenwriting and dialogue writing reached 3 million 400 thousand liras and support for project development reached 2 million 500 thousand liras.
Funding allocated to these four areas last year totaled 14 million 69 thousand liras and rose by 6 million 833 thousand 500 liras in 2026 to reach 20 million 902 thousand 500 liras. Thus, the amount allocated to each of the four types of support exceeded the previous year's figure.

Other film categories also received support
Under the board's decisions in 2026, support was also provided for documentary and feature film productions, debut films, post-production work and co-productions.
Ersoy said filmmakers would continue to receive support throughout the process from ideas and screenplays to production and the big screen, while new works would continue to be brought to Turkish cinema.
