The US Border Patrol (USBP) raided a "stash house"—a location where irregular migrants are temporarily held—in an operation targeting human smuggling in El Paso, Texas. The operation uncovered 14 irregular migrants, including a Turkish citizen.
According to the USBP, two individuals were taken into custody on human smuggling charges during the operation, while the irregular migrants were handed over to immigration authorities for deportation proceedings. Officials stated that the investigation into the smuggling networks is ongoing.
US security agencies announced that they have recently intensified operations against human smuggling organizations, especially along the Texas border, and that raids on stash houses—locations where irregular migrants are held—will continue to increase.
