Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliya Sviridenko announced on her social media account that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not attend the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference (URC-2026) to be held in Gdańsk, Poland.
Sviridenko stated that she will lead the Ukrainian delegation. She noted that the delegation will include Ukrainian businesspeople, managers of state-owned companies, representatives from different regions of the country, bureaucrats, and parliamentarians.
The Prime Minister said numerous events will be organized at the conference, aiming to benefit Ukraine, Poland, and all partners. Sviridenko stated, "At the end of the event, we expect concrete agreements that will strengthen Ukraine's defense capacity and resilience and expand economic cooperation with partners."
A series of important agreements, particularly in the energy sector, are planned to be signed at the conference.
Tensions in relations
Relations between Poland and Ukraine became strained after the Polish President revoked the White Eagle Order, the highest state decoration, which had been awarded to Zelenskyy.
In reaction to this decision, many Ukrainian politicians returned the high state decorations they had received from Poland.
