The 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico, will be held quite late hours for football viewers in Turkey. Of the 104 matches in the tournament, 53 will start between 00:00 and 05:00 Turkey time.
The organization, which will feature 48 countries for the first time in history, will also draw attention with the participation of the National Football Team after 24 years. However, the time difference between the host countries and Turkey turns the tournament into a fixture remembered not only for excitement but also for fatigue.
The busiest time is 22:00
The most matches will be played at 22:00 in the distribution of match times. There are a total of 19 matches in this time slot.
22:00 is followed by 10 matches starting at 23:00 and 9 matches starting at 01:00. The 11 matches starting at 04:00 stand out as one of the hardest times to follow for Turkish football fans.
A total of 38 matches will take place in the prime-time slot between 20:00 and 23:00. This number corresponds to 36.5% of the total matches in the tournament.
Between 05:00 and 07:00, considered the morning slot, 13 matches will be played. The final, which will be held in New York, will start at 22:00 Turkey time.
