3.6 million fans set attendance record at 2026 FIFA World Cup
FIFA announced that the 2026 World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, set a new attendance record with a total of 3.6 million fans.
FIFA announced that the 2026 World Cup reached a new attendance record. In the tournament, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, and featuring 48 teams for the first time, 3.6 million ticketed fans have taken their seats in the stadiums so far.
The previous record was set at the 1994 World Cup, hosted by the United States, with 3,587,538 fans. The new figure has surpassed that historic attendance number.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino noted the high stadium occupancy, saying, "It is the most successful tournament in history. The stadiums are full, the cities are full, the atmosphere is fantastic."
The tournament, hosted by 16 stadiums, will conclude with the final match on July 19.
