Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced the new results of the International Leading Researchers and International Young Researchers Programs carried out by TÜBİTAK on his social media account. Minister Kacır stated that within the program, which will contribute to 'reverse brain drain,' 75 leading and young researchers, 49 of whom are Turkish citizens, have earned support to come to Türkiye and implement their projects.
In his post, Kacır said: 'Researchers who have gained experience at universities such as Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford will strengthen our science and R&D infrastructure. I wish success to all researchers who will continue their work in Türkiye and contribute to our country's future.'
A written statement from the Ministry of Industry and Technology provided details about the program. According to the statement, the researchers who have qualified for support will bring their qualified studies to Türkiye from institutions that rank high in world university rankings such as QS and THE, and from companies that spend the most on R&D as determined by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.
Within the program, researchers will be provided with a living allowance, family living allowance, health insurance, and travel support. In addition, to carry out their scientific research, they will receive a start-up package grant, research support, scholarships for those who will take part in the project team, project incentive bonuses, as well as institutional share support for host institutions.
Leading researchers who have previously come to Türkiye through the programs and started their work will also provide mentorship support to the newly arriving researchers.
Application results can be learned through the TÜBİTAK BİDEB Application and Monitoring System. Detailed information about the programs can be found on TÜBİTAK's official website.
