The comprehensive digital monitoring, analysis and coordination activities carried out by our Presidency's Directorate of Communications continue uninterrupted in full coordination with all relevant institutions.
The struggle waged by our state with all its means against terrorist propaganda, disinformation activities and psychological operations attempts carried out on digital platforms continues with determination.
In this context, under the coordination of our Presidency's Directorate of Communications; as a result of the joint efforts of the General Directorate of Security's Cyber Crimes Department, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and our Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), access restriction measures were immediately implemented on 2,702 social media accounts identified as linked to FETÖ or affiliated with FETÖ in the last month.
In addition, as a result of detailed technical examinations and digital network analyses carried out in the last two months, 1,652 social media accounts were identified as praising and encouraging terrorism, spreading disinformation, and engaging in psychological operations activities against our country.
Necessary legal and administrative actions were taken regarding these accounts in coordination with relevant institutions, primarily our Ministries of Justice and Interior, and access restriction decisions were implemented.
The analyses conducted clearly reveal that terrorist organizations carry out propaganda activities not only in the physical realm but also on digital platforms in an organized, coordinated and systematic manner; and that they target social peace, our national unity and public order through manipulation, perception management and disinformation.
'THE DIGITAL SPACE IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF OUR NATIONAL SECURITY' Under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Türkiye continues its fight against terrorism on the ground, beyond its borders and in the digital realm with the same determination, the same understanding of legal legitimacy and the same state seriousness. The digital space is an integral part of our national security.
Terrorist organizations will in no way be allowed to use social media and digital platforms for propaganda, recruitment, financing, disinformation and psychological operations.
As the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, together with all relevant institutions, we will resolutely continue to constantly monitor the digital ecosystem, identify all threats targeting our national security and take necessary measures without delay, and provide our citizens with accurate information against disinformation. This year, we are commemorating the 10th anniversary of the treacherous July 15 coup attempt.
FETÖ, which targeted the will of our noble nation, was thwarted that night by the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the epic resistance of our nation and the determined struggle of our state. In the ten years since, our state has continued its fight against all terrorist organizations, primarily FETÖ, with the same perseverance and determination.
I commemorate with mercy and gratitude all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our homeland, and I express my gratitude to our heroic veterans. The Republic of Türkiye will never allow any structure, any terrorist organization or any digital threat that targets its national unity and solidarity.
