Actor and director Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu’s solo performance “Dünyada” was staged three times at The Cockpit Theatre in London as part of the 2026 Camden Fringe Festival.
Presented to English audiences with the support of the Yunus Emre Institute London, the production brought together different audience groups during its Camden Fringe performances.
Combining theatre with live cinema
Based on a contemporary interpretation of US playwright Will Eno’s work “Title and Deed,” “Dünyada” brings theatre and live cinema together within the same performance language.
The production, in which Nuroğlu performs alone, explores the concepts of identity, memory, migration, displacement and belonging. Featuring pieces from Çağrı Sinci’s album “Başkası,” the performance places the relationship between the stage and the screen at its centre through visual and audio storytelling.

Conversation held at the Yunus Emre Institute London
Before the festival performances, a conversation titled “In Conversation with Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu” was held at the Yunus Emre Institute London. During the programme, which was conducted in English, Nuroğlu discussed his artistic journey, acting practice and the creative process behind “Dünyada.”
Nuroğlu also spoke about the production’s journey from Istanbul to London and his experiences with theatre, cinema and different forms of performance. Following assessments of the production’s creative approach and the themes it addresses, audience questions were answered.
International team contributed
The London organisation of “Dünyada” was carried out under the coordination of producer and event manager Ziyi Cao and co-producer and marketing partner Joy Li, with contributions from an international creative and technical team.
The Yunus Emre Institute London contributed to bringing contemporary artistic productions from Türkiye to audiences in the United Kingdom through its support for the production’s presentation in England and the conversation it organised with Nuroğlu.
