The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan and Qatar condemned Iran's drone attack on Bahrain, stating that the act violated the country's sovereignty and undermined regional peace efforts.
A statement from the UAE Foreign Ministry said Abu Dhabi considers the attack a "clear violation of Bahrain's sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability," expressing full solidarity with Manama.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry stressed that the attack violated international law and the United Nations Charter, undermining international efforts to restore security and stability in the region.
Kuwait's Foreign Ministry described the attack, carried out with multiple drones, as a "clear violation of Bahrain's sovereignty and a direct threat to its security and stability," noting that such actions seriously undermine peace and stability at a time when de-escalation efforts are ongoing.
Jordan's Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, calling it "brutal," and said it was a clear violation of international law and the UN Charter, also pointing to a dangerous escalation. Amman expressed full solidarity with Bahrain.
Qatar's Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack, stating it constitutes a serious violation of Bahrain's sovereignty and international law, and reiterated support for measures to protect Bahrain's security.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry announced in a written statement earlier that a number of Iranian drones had targeted the country's territory.
Separately, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced strikes on targets off the Iranian coast in response to an attack on a container ship in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it struck U.S. military deployment points in retaliation for the attack on southern Iran. The drone attack on Bahrain, coming amid rising tensions in the region, drew sharp condemnation from Arab countries.
