Barcelona beat Galatasaray 4-1 at Rams Park in Istanbul in the second week of the UEFA Champions League league phase. The Spanish side moved to 6 points with the result, while Galatasaray finished their second match without a point.

Barcelona started the match by dominating possession and trying to get behind the opposing defense with short passes. Galatasaray goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır saved Anthony Gordon’s shot in the 16th minute for the visitors. Dani Olmo’s header in the 23rd minute went wide, while Çakır also denied Joao Cancelo’s powerful effort from outside the box in the 25th minute.
Despite the flow of the game, Galatasaray took the lead in the 27th minute. Following Rafael Leao’s cross from the left, Alexey Patrakov’s shot from outside the box changed direction after hitting Joao Cancelo and found the back of the Barcelona net.
The home side’s goal through Victor Osimhen in the 34th minute was ruled out after a VAR review because Barış Alper Yılmaz was offside. Barcelona equalized in the 43rd minute through Cancelo’s shot from the left side of the penalty area. The first half ended 1-1.
Early in the second half, Gordon was unable to capitalize on an opportunity to put Barcelona ahead after finding himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper following Lamine Yamal’s pass. Barcelona took a 2-1 lead in the 50th minute when Fermin Lopez headed in Yamal’s cross.

The visitors extended their lead three minutes later. Gordon finished a quick attack created by Yamal with a shot from inside the penalty area to make it 3-1.
Barcelona’s fourth goal came in the 65th minute. After Gabriel Jesus was unable to control a cross, substitute Karim Adeyemi found the ball in front of him and fired a powerful left-footed shot into the net.
Galatasaray came close to reducing the deficit through Osimhen in the 75th minute, but Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia came off his line in time and cleared the ball outside the penalty area. No further goals were scored, and Barcelona left the field with a 4-1 victory.
Barcelona moved to the top of the standings with 6 points after two matches on goal difference. Sporting Lisbon and Arsenal also have the same number of points, while Galatasaray remained without a point after suffering their second consecutive defeat.
Barcelona will visit reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain in Paris on October 20 in the third week of the league phase.
