Bodies of two men found in well used for illegal excavation in Konya
The bodies of two men were found in a well in a mountainous area of Konya’s Meram district. The gendarmerie launched an investigation after Hilmi Konukcu and Ali Çelikbaş were reported missing.
The bodies of two men were discovered in a well in a mountainous area near Kızılören Mahallesi in Konya’s Meram district at around 4 p.m.
Following a report to the authorities, AFAD, Konya Metropolitan Municipality fire crews, gendarmerie, UMKE and 112 emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams secured the area and began working at the well.
After a joint operation, the men in the well were identified as Hilmi Konukcu and Ali Çelikbaş. Their bodies were removed from the well and taken to the Konya Forensic Medicine Institute.
It was learned that Konukcu and Çelikbaş had previously been reported missing to the police in the Selçuklu district.
The gendarmerie launched an investigation into the incident.
