Bolu detained 1,052 suspects in October; 82 jailed, 22 irregular migrants face deportation
The Bolu Provincial Police Department and Provincial Gendarmerie Command detained 1,052 suspects during operations against narcotics, public order offenses, smuggling and migrant smuggling in October. Of them, 82 were jailed, while deportation proceedings were initiated for 22 migrants who entered the country illegally.
Police and gendarmerie teams detained a total of 1,052 suspects during inspections and operations conducted in Bolu from October 1 to 31. Of those referred to court, 82 were jailed.
During inspections aimed at preventing migrant smuggling and human trafficking, 22 irregular migrants found to have entered Türkiye illegally were apprehended. Proceedings were initiated for their deportation.
Sixty-six detained in narcotics operations
As part of efforts to combat narcotics crimes, operations were conducted at 34 addresses. Sixty-six suspects were apprehended and nine were jailed. Searches uncovered 944 grams of heroin, 299 cannabis plants, 50 grams of methamphetamine, 64 grams of cannabis, 32 grams of cocaine, 172 grams of bonzai and 82 Captagon tablets.
Authorities intervened in 1,324 incidents during public order operations, apprehending 797 suspects linked to them. Another 149 people wanted for various crimes were detained, 67 of whom were jailed. In the fight against smuggling and organized crime, 40 suspects were detained in operations targeting 37 addresses. Authorities seized 15 weapons and bladed tools, 523 rounds of ammunition and magazines, 1,140 liters of ethyl alcohol and two forged identity documents.
