Duran speaks on Palestine
Burhanettin Duran, head of Türkiye's Presidential Communications Directorate, said Türkiye would continue defending the Palestinian people's just cause and making every necessary effort to establish justice and peace in the region.
Duran assessed the decision by 12 countries to ban trade with the occupied West Bank. He said the step taken by countries including the United Kingdom, France and Canada was significant because it showed that practices disregarding international law in the occupied Palestinian territories would not go unanswered.
Call for concrete action from the international community
Duran said the international community must strengthen its resolve in this direction and called for concrete steps against Israel's unlawful policies.
Duran said demonstrating similar determination in response to the ongoing destruction and humanitarian crisis in Gaza was an urgent responsibility of the international community.
Türkiye supports decision by 12 countries
Twelve countries announced the previous day their intention to ban trade with the occupied Palestinian territories. Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it welcomed and supported the steps led by the United Kingdom, France and Canada to ban trade and business relations with illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
