As the hot weather intensifies in Diyarbakır, children seeking relief from the heat spent time at the ornamental pool in Anzele Park. Located inside the historic city walls, the pool becomes crowded again on days when temperatures exceed 35 degrees Celsius.
After swimming in the pool, children lay on the concrete ground to sunbathe. The park has become a favorite spot for families because it offers both fun and a chance to cool down during the hot weather.
Families Bring Their Children to the Same Pool
Mehmet Turan explained that many people from Diyarbakır swam in this pool as children and now bring their own children here. He said he lives in Istanbul but brings his children to the ornamental pool in Anzele Park every time he visits Diyarbakır.
Alparslan Öktem also noted that children both enjoy themselves and cool off in the park. Öktem said that when the weather heats up in Diyarbakır, Anzele is the first place that comes to mind.
How Children Spend the Hot Weather
10-year-old Veysel Ay said they come to the pool with friends whenever they get the chance. He described Diyarbakır as very hot and said meeting friends in the neighborhood to swim is very fun.
Ay added that the water is cold and nice, that he comes here every year, and learned to swim at this pool. Ilyas Ay said they come to the ornamental pool as the weather warms up and visit the park daily because they have a good time.
Anzele Park continues to stand out as both a cooling spot and a playground for children in Diyarbakır as summer temperatures rise.
