CHP Ankara Provincial Head Fahri Yıldırım made his first statements after the appointment made by the party headquarters.
Troll Army Claim
Yıldırım noted that a troll army allegedly established by Manisa MP Özgür Özel and his aides is being investigated. He relayed that CHP Deputy Chairman Ali Haydar Fırat stated that 34,000 troll accounts from the previous period were identified, and 3,400 of them were linked to FETÖ.
Yıldırım said, "Our deputy chairmen are conducting a very detailed investigation regarding the troll accounts, and our party will provide the necessary information in the coming days."
Nature and Purpose of the Accounts
Yıldırım asserted that extraordinary efforts were made through troll accounts to change public perception and isolate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, claiming these accounts were also used by foreign intelligence channels.
"We know they are trying to weaken the party and remove Kemal Bey," said Yıldırım, adding that almost all troll accounts operate for money from abroad.
Yıldırım stated, "The accounts are not real. When you examine them, they originate from South America, Afghanistan, Pakistan. We are facing a shameful situation."
Handover Issue at Provincial Headquarters Buildings
Yıldırım stated that following the expulsion decisions against provincial heads, the provincial headquarters building in Ankara has still not been handed over. "Our provincial headquarters are currently under de facto occupation. Our dismissed friends should hand over the buildings to the newly appointed names as per the charter, but they are carrying out a de facto occupation," he said.
Yıldırım added that bank accounts and cars have been taken over, and he expects the building to be vacated within this week, noting that they do not consider entering the building with the police.
