The Republic of Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran stated that the 'Allies in Ankara' event to be held in the capital will make Ankara a leading center for international dialogue, strategic consultation, and multilateral cooperation.
In a post on his account on the Turkish social media platform 'İn Sosyal,' Duran shared his assessments regarding the event to be organized by the Communications Directorate in cooperation with the Munich Security Conference and the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA).
Complementary program to the 2026 NATO Summit
Communications Director Duran recalled that Türkiye, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will host the 2026 NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government. Stressing that the 'Allies in Ankara' program will be a significant contribution by the Communications Directorate to international dialogue on security and strategy, Duran noted that the event will complement the official program of the NATO Summit.
The two-day event will bring together senior government representatives, decision-makers, research centers, and international actors in Ankara.
Global security agenda to be addressed
Over the two days, participants will address the prominent items on the global security agenda through panel discussions, policy dialogues, roundtable meetings, and thematic sessions.
Duran stated that the discussions will cover a broad spectrum ranging from NATO's deterrence and defense capabilities to European security architecture, from hybrid threats and cybersecurity to artificial intelligence and the protection of critical infrastructure. He added that he believes these discussions will contribute to strengthening cooperation among allies and partner countries.
The Communications Directorate had previously announced that the event would last two days and include 45 side events with the participation of senior government representatives, decision-makers, and domestic and international stakeholders.
