The July results of the foreign trade index prepared by the Turkish Association of Construction Material Producers in cooperation with KPMG were released. The construction materials industry's exports over the past 12 months reached $33.38 billion as of July.
The sector's exports in July rose 1% from $3.17 billion in June to $3.20 billion. Export volume, however, fell from 5.19 million tons to 4.94 million tons during the same period.
The average export unit price was recorded at $0.65 per kilogram in July. The average unit price, which stood at $0.61 in June, increased by 6.1%.
Import volume declined
The construction materials industry's imports totaled $1.44 billion in July. The import value fell 2.6% from $1.48 billion in June.
