Richard Amo Yartey, Director of Ghana's National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), announced that heavy rains that have been ongoing in the country since June 28 have caused flooding in the capital Accra and six regions.
Yartey stated that the death toll from the floods has risen to 34, and many people have been injured.
Yartey reported that more than 10,000 households have been affected by the disaster, and 89,736 people have been displaced.
Following the heavy rains that have been ongoing in Ghana since June 28, many people went missing, and the government had warned of outbreaks of cholera, malaria, and diarrhea after the floods.
