At a time when Turkey decided to put some public assets up for sale due to economic difficulties, the government decided to grant $30 million to Somalia. With the Presidential decree published in the Official Gazette, this grant, which will be sent to cover Somalia's budget deficit, will be paid in installments not exceeding $2.5 million per month. This decision brought about debates on the transfer of public resources abroad and the budget deficit within the country being covered by the public. Especially, the sale of public properties with historical and strategic importance is being criticized. Among the assets put up for sale is the Eskişehir Air Hospital land, which is unique in the world. These developments regarding the management and prioritization of public resources are causing different reactions in the public.
