At the hearing continuing at the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court, Leyla Alaton and her son Efe Eros Güneyli, along with the lawyers of the parties, were present. Alaton stated that she believed there was oversight in the company but that fugitive defendant Ahmet Özcan did not provide her with information regarding the oversight. She explained that they became aware of the situation when her son Güneyli pursued the matter. In response to the court president's question about the transfer of the companies for one lira, Alaton said this transaction was a formality and that she was not sufficiently informed about it.
Alaton said that the material and moral dimensions of the damage experienced in the companies are very large, that they are struggling to pay salaries to 150 people, and that the process has been ongoing for about 2.5 years. Her son Güneyli stated that he joined the company in July 2023, worked closely with fugitive defendant Özcan as a board member, and that the company's turnover dropped from 23 million dollars to 7 million dollars. Additionally, despite the company receiving 400 million dollars in investment, it faced 50 million dollars in debt, and Özcan used this situation as a tool for blackmail.
The public prosecutor requested the acceptance of the complainants' requests to join the lawsuit, and the court panel accepted this request. It was decided to send the file to the Court of Accounts expert witness and to continue the arrest warrant for fugitive defendant Özcan. The hearing was postponed to address missing issues.
In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, according to MASAK reports, between 2020 and 2024, 1.35 billion lira was deposited into Özcan's accounts, and a total of 1.88 billion lira was withdrawn from the companies. The indictment states that the defendants made money transfers that reduced company assets and are accused of laundering asset values. The defendants are requested to be sentenced to imprisonment from 3 years and 6 months to 9 years.
