Denmark expressed concerns about the treatment of individuals detained during the Gaza flotilla mission. Footage shared by Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir showed activists being handcuffed and forced to kneel while being detained. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen stated on the social media platform X that this treatment is unacceptable and emphasized the importance of respecting detainees and protecting their rights. The Global Sumud humanitarian flotilla announced that a convoy of 50 ships, involving 428 people from 44 countries, was stopped by Israel in international waters. The flotilla's aim is to break the Israeli blockade imposed since 2007. Despite a ceasefire reached in Gaza on October 10, 2025, humanitarian access did not improve and Israeli attacks continued. The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that at least 881 people lost their lives and 2,621 were injured after the ceasefire. This ceasefire aimed to halt Israel's two-year-long Gaza war; over 72,000 people died in the war, mostly women and children, more than 172,000 were injured, and about 90% of civilian infrastructure was damaged.
