Deputy Foreign Minister and Ambassador Levent Gümrükçü, who attended the 30th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, to which Türkiye was invited for the first time as a "Joint Observer," received Mert Pur, chair of the DEİK Türkiye-Bolivia Business Council, and Erhan Beken, chair of the Türkiye-Paraguay Business Council, at the embassy residence. The two council chairs were in Madrid for the Business Forum held on the sidelines of the summit.
During the meeting, held in line with Türkiye’s goal of diversifying its relations with Ibero-American countries, the participants discussed trade and investment opportunities in Latin America. By taking part in the summit for the first time as a joint observer, Türkiye had brought its institutional contacts with Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries to a new level.
