While the US Central Command (CENTCOM) continues its blockade threat against Iranian ports, according to reports from maritime data provider Kpler, at least four Iran-linked ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz from the Persian Gulf. Among them are the bulk carrier Christianna flying the Liberian flag and the tanker Elpis flying the Comoros flag. The Christianna ship passed through the Strait of Hormuz after unloading 74,000 tons of corn at Iran's Bandar Imam Khomeini port. The Elpis tanker, loaded with 31,000 tons of methanol, departed from Bushehr port and used the same route. In response to the US blockade threat, Iran reacted strongly by considering this move a violation of sovereignty and warned that regional tensions could increase. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Command stated that any foreign military ship approaching the Strait of Hormuz would violate the existing ceasefire. Additionally, Iran warned that regional retaliation would be carried out against possible attacks on its ports. Maritime experts note that ship signals in the region are sometimes interrupted and manipulated, indicating difficulties in precise tracking. The US blockade decision is considered likely to increase tensions in the region.
