Detentions on 15 July Martyrs Bridge due to May 1st
Police intervened with a group of about 40 people who wanted to close traffic on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge within the scope of May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day. As a result of the intervention, some people were detained and there was traffic congestion on the bridge.
On the occasion of May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day, a group of about 40 people wanted to protest by closing traffic on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge. Police teams intervened with the group during this action on the bridge and detained some individuals. Those detained were taken to the police station. During the incident, traffic congestion occurred in the direction of the European side of the bridge. The police intervention and resulting traffic jam were also recorded by other drivers. Authorities stated that the protest posed a risk in terms of security and traffic order.
