Disinformation Combating Center denies Murat Ongun's piggy bank claim

The Disinformation Combating Center issued a statement regarding the defense of Murat Ongun, the head of the "Imamoglu Criminal Organization," who was arrested as part of the corruption investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB).

Ongun had claimed that during a search of his luxury villa in Beykoz, money was taken from his son's piggy bank. The Disinformation Combating Center stated that this claim is a manipulation and announced that no money was taken from any piggy bank during the search. According to the search record, it was reported that cash was seized at various points in the house and in a safe. Among the confiscated money were 9,800 TL, 20,000 TL, and in the safe 31,050 euros, 1,640 pounds sterling, 227 dollars, and various amounts of Turkish lira.
