President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with US President Donald Trump, who arrived in Ankara for the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government, at the Presidential Complex.
The F-35 fighter jet program and CAATSA sanctions were the main agenda items. Erdoğan said, "The F-35 issue is not new for us. We have discussed it with the US before. We received promises for five aircraft. Mr. Trump also gave us his word on this matter. Now, in the talks we will hold at the Leaders' Summit, I know that we are positively testing the earlier promise regarding the F-35 for the future."
US President Trump said, "Turkey has become a very strong country militarily under your leadership. I can say that we could lift the sanctions."

They noted that tomorrow the domestic data agenda will be quiet, while the Fed FOMC meeting minutes, the IMF World Economic Outlook Report, Japan's foreign trade balance, and US wholesale inventories will be monitored internationally.
