President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that people who commit war crimes should be in courtrooms, where they will be held accountable for the crimes they committed and the blood that was shed, rather than at the United Nations podium.
Erdoğan made the statement at the closing program of the 21st MÜSİAD EXPO International Trade Fair and the 29th International Business Forum in Istanbul. He warned that the same atrocities would be repeated if those who commit genocide are not held accountable before justice and history.
Emphasis on Palestine and Gaza
Reiterating Türkiye’s support for Palestine, Erdoğan said that the Palestinian people were not alone or abandoned. Erdoğan stated that the people of Gaza would not be left alone in their pursuit of rights and justice, adding that Türkiye would continue to tell the truth and be the voice of the oppressed.
Assessment of the regional crisis and global system
Erdoğan said that the region, at the center of which Türkiye is located, was experiencing a comprehensive storm of crises. He assessed that the global system was facing an impasse in terms of legitimacy, representation and justice.

Economic figures
Erdoğan said that the Turkish economy had grown uninterruptedly for the past 24 quarters, adding that Türkiye was the world’s 16th-largest economy and Europe’s sixth-largest.
Erdoğan announced that the number of Turkish exporting companies had risen from 33,000 in 2002 to 168,000 in 2025. He said they would continue working resolutely toward sustainable and balanced growth targets in line with the new Medium-Term Program announced 20 days earlier.
