Türkiye's first suction dredger built at its shipyards under a domestic project, UAB MAVİ VATAN, has been launched. Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said the vessel was produced using a domestic design developed at shipyards in Türkiye.
Uraloğlu said welding work on the vessel's first block had been completed on April 10, 2025. UAB MAVİ VATAN is 85 meters long and has a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters.
Capable of operating at depths of up to 20 meters
The vessel will be able to carry out seabed dredging at depths of up to 20 meters. Seabed dredging and cleanup operations, particularly in gulfs, are planned to be conducted with this domestically built ministry vessel.
Equipped with a fully automated system, UAB MAVİ VATAN will also be able to carry out seabed dredging while underway. The vessel will enter service after several months of sea trials.
