FCMB Group raised its annual net profit to 177.3 billion naira, reaching the highest level in the company's history. The profit, which was 73.3 billion naira a year ago, increased by 147.7%.
According to the audited financial results announced by the company, the increase was mainly driven by a strong rise in interest income. This revenue item stood out as the group's main source of earnings.
Significant Increase in Revenues
The group's gross income rose by 42.5% during the review period, reaching 1.1 trillion naira. Net interest income increased by 124.5%, reaching 505.9 billion naira.
Net income from fees and commissions also grew by 30.4% to 76.7 billion naira. The company reported that service fees, commissions, and account maintenance income contributed to this increase.
Pre-tax profit remained strong, rising to 200.9 billion naira. This figure significantly exceeded the 112.1 billion naira recorded in the same period last year.
Provisioning and Balance Sheet Growth
FCMB Group set aside 81.7 billion naira in provisions for impaired assets. Last year, the amount allocated for this item was 41.2 billion naira.
The company's total assets reached 7.6 trillion naira as of December 31, 2025. This amount was recorded as 7.1 trillion naira in the previous period.
The increase in the group's assets was attributed to a rise in investment securities. FCMB Group operates not only in commercial banking but also in asset management, pensions, trusteeship, and microfinance sectors.
Dividend and Quarterly Results
The board of directors proposed a cash dividend of 0.35 naira per share. This proposal represents a potential total payment of 23.1 billion naira.
This amount is below the 0.55 naira per share dividend paid for the 2024 fiscal year. Following the announcement of the results, the company's shares rose by 7.6% during the trading session in Lagos.
FCMB Group also released its first-quarter results. According to these, post-tax profit increased from 32.2 billion naira to 76.5 billion naira during this period; gross income rose by 26.7% to 320.2 billion naira.
