Iranian state television announced that two senior military officials lost their lives as a result of Israeli attacks. According to the report, Seyyid Behmen Hosseini and Ali Reza Abiri, both affiliated with the air defense forces, were killed in Israel's recent attacks on Iran. Funeral ceremonies for the soldiers will be held today in the capital, Tehran.
SINCERE CALL FROM IRAN Ibrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament, stated in an interview with CNN that despite U.S. President Donald Trump's recent remarks about reaching an agreement soon, obstacles remain regarding frozen assets and the nuclear issue.
Azizi emphasized that a possible agreement depends on a change in U.S. behavior amid deep mistrust. He said, "If we can be sure they are willing to negotiate and will abide by the rules of negotiation, Iran, which embraces negotiation and dialogue, will have no problem advancing the talks."
Azizi expressed his belief that President Trump was not acting honestly during talks aimed at turning a temporary ceasefire into a permanent agreement to end the war. He added, "Nevertheless, we have repeatedly stated that we consider negotiations as a continuation of the battlefield. We see negotiations as part of the war."
Regarding uncertainties in the negotiation process, Azizi said they have not seen a serious willingness from the U.S. to reach an agreement that could truly implement such a framework.
Azizi noted that although the U.S. agreed to release Iran's frozen assets before negotiations, they have not yet seen any willingness from Washington to do so. He also mentioned that the current negotiations do not include issues related to Iran's nuclear program at this stage.
When asked about the possibility of a final peace agreement between Iran and the U.S., Azizi said it depends on the behavior they observe from the other side. He stated, "If these behaviors continue, no. We have no trust in them at all."
'THE NEW SECURITY BELT OF RESISTANCE' Brigadier General Ismail Kaani, Commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated on his social media account that the resistance front will jointly respond to the attacks by the U.S. and Israel in the region.
Highlighting the timing of the recent attacks on Israel by the Houthis in Yemen, Kaani said, "The line extending from the Strait of Hormuz to Bab al-Mandeb, from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea, will be the new security belt of the resistance." He added that if the U.S. and Israel continue their attacks, these strategic waterways will be closed by resistance forces.
