Representatives of more than 10 countries, including Türkiye, walked out of the hall as Israeli President Isaac Herzog began his address at the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who represented Türkiye at the summit, and his delegation rose from their seats and left during Herzog’s speech, which began around midday.
Iran, Kuwait, Pakistan and Palestine also left
According to international media reports, the Iranian, Kuwaiti, Pakistani and Palestinian delegations were among those who walked out. Herzog was speaking at an expanded session attended by representatives of several countries that have no diplomatic relations with Israel.

In his speech, Herzog said it was very significant that the summit was being held in Azerbaijan, which he called "a very tolerant country," and argued that in the 21st century "isolation is an illusion."
Fidan had been expected to call at the summit for pressure on Israel over Gaza.
