Foreign Minister Fidan meets Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Baku
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the 7th CICA Summit in Baku on Oct. 15. The two ministers posed for photographers in front of the summit logo before the meeting, which was attended by their delegations.
No detailed statement has yet been released on the content of the talks.
According to China’s Foreign Ministry, Wang Yi is attending the summit as the special representative of Chinese President Xi Jinping. From Oct. 14 to 20 he is touring Azerbaijan as well as Croatia, Montenegro and Bulgaria.
Fidan is representing Türkiye at the summit on behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Earlier the same day, Fidan and the Turkish delegation walked out during a speech by Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
