Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan continued his contacts in New York during the high-level week of the 81st UN General Assembly, meeting General Assembly President Khalilur Rahman.
Fidan also received US Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Michael Waltz at Türkevi, the Turkish House in New York.

Reviewing the week, Fidan said Türkiye had conducted intense diplomatic traffic under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s leadership. “We contributed to work on Palestine above all, as well as climate change, food security, mediation and migration. We announced our priorities for the COP31 summit we will host,” he said, adding that interest in Türkiye’s initiatives and proposals for the peaceful resolution of crises showed the country’s growing diplomatic weight.
