Turkey’s Foreign Ministry firmly rejected the accusations against the Turkish Armed Forces in the European Parliament’s (EP) recent resolutions. The ministry described the resolutions as “baseless, invalid, and unreliable.”
In a statement on the social media platform X, the ministry said it fully supported the statement by the Foreign Ministry of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on the same resolution.
The statement emphasized that the EP resolution was “full of vile, defamatory attacks” and that the European Union and the European Parliament displayed a biased and distorted approach on the Cyprus issue under the influence of certain circles.
The ministry’s statement included the following remarks: “This resolution, filled with vile, defamatory statements, is another example of the biased and distorted approach adopted by the European Union, and in particular the European Parliament, on the Cyprus issue under the influence of certain circles. It is alarming that EU institutions are increasingly handling the Cyprus issue in a way that departs from historical facts and the principle of impartiality.”
