Spain's National Police announced on July 6 that 4 people were detained in operations against the terrorist organization ISIS in four different cities.
According to the police's written statement, the suspects arrested in raids in Toledo, Madrid, Barcelona and Ceuta had radicalized under the influence of ISIS's violent ideology and made global calls for violence via social media.
The four detainees will be brought before a court on charges of terrorist propaganda and violence. Police said the suspects shared ISIS propaganda and training materials on social media.
According to the seized documents and investigation findings, one of the detained women planned to reach conflict zones in the Middle East via Turkey. It was determined that she had purchased a plane ticket to Turkey for this purpose. Police noted that due to this plan, the nationwide operations were carried out earlier than planned.
