While discussions with the US and Russia continue, another major breakthrough that will elevate Turkey's air defense architecture to an unparalleled level has occurred. Under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries, a historic serial production deal worth 1 billion 470 million 500 thousand euros was signed with Aselsan and Roketsan. The agreement will bolster the strength of the 'Steel Dome' project, which will simultaneously protect Turkey's skies.
At the lowest layer of the system, KORKUT-like systems strike swarm drones and kamikaze UAVs; at medium altitude, HİSAR-A and HİSAR-O; and at the top layer, the newly inducted SİPER. The system operates fully integrated on the principle of 'detect, assess, decide, and destroy.' The Multi-Layered Air Defense System ÇELİKKUBBE can neutralize all types of threats in the airspace at all altitudes and ranges.
Head of the Presidency of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün stated that, in line with the decisions of the Defense Industry Executive Committee dated February 18, they signed additional serial production contracts with Aselsan and Roketsan for the HİSAR-A and HİSAR-O air defense systems. SERIAL PRODUCTION CONTRACT Görgün said, 'We are determined to strengthen our multi-layered air defense architecture within the scope of our Steel Dome vision and our commitments under NATO.'
Thanks to the steps taken over the last 23 years, we have an ecosystem of over 4,000 companies and an army of 100,000 engineers and technicians with an average age under 34 that can meet all the advanced capabilities our country needs in the defense industry,' he said.
Defined as a system of systems, ÇELİKKUBBE stands out as a security umbrella that will cover the entire sky homeland.
It ensures that all air defense elements and weapons work integrated under a network structure. Creating a common air picture, ÇELİKKUBBE enables these images to be transmitted in real time to operation centers and presented to decision-makers with AI support. The layered system can engage threats across the entire spectrum, from very low to the highest altitudes.
The system is continuously being enhanced with new capabilities. THE LION'S SHARE GOES TO ASELSAN Housing numerous air defense weapon systems, radars, electro-optical solutions, communication modules, command and control stations, and artificial intelligence, ÇELİKKUBBE is the brain of Turkey's air defense domain. Aselsan is taking the lion's share in the project.
Aselsan General Manager Ahmet Akyol, in a social media post on the matter, said, 'We continue to strengthen ÇELİKKUBBE. This contract we signed with our Presidency of Defense Industries will further increase the serial production power of our air defense systems.'
