Mihalis Katrinis, PASOK’s lawmaker responsible for defense policy in Greece, commented on the September 29 meeting of Parliament’s Armaments Committee. Katrinis recalled that the government had promised 25 percent domestic participation in its arms projects.
Katrinis called for details on the extent to which Greek companies had been awarded contracts במסגרת this framework. He said that arms programs worth a total of 7.5 billion euros had been approved following the promise made by the prime minister on April 1, 2025, and said they had requested detailed information on whether the domestic participation target had been met.

Katrinis called for the committee to reconvene to discuss the issue and said they had not received a response regarding the date of the meeting.

Katrinis also said that the defense minister had promised on April 2, 2025, to brief Parliament on the ongoing arms programs, but that the briefing had not taken place.
Katrinis said the government could not limit itself to making statements, stressing that transparency in arms spending must be ensured and that the government must account for the expenditures made.
