Greek newspaper Efsin reported that an underwater military test was conducted at Lavrio Port near Athens with the participation of Israel. In its Saturday edition, under the headline 'Israeli war industry in the depths of Greek waters,' the newspaper claimed the test took place between March 16 and 20.
According to the report, the test was conducted as part of the EU-funded underwater security research program called 'UnderSec' (Andersec). The program, launched in 2023, aims to develop maritime technologies at the ports of Lavrio in Greece, Valencia in Spain, and Ravenna in Italy.
The test reportedly involved the Israeli Ministry of Defense, the Israeli military industry company Rafael (which cooperates closely with Germany), and Tel Aviv University. Efsin also claimed that TNT, toxic, and radioactive materials were used in the tests.
"The tests lasted five days; no information was provided to local residents, the required environmental permits were not secured, and the port's biodiversity has been put at serious risk."
