The Halkalı–Istanbul Airport–Gayrettepe Metro Line's Halkalı–Arnavutköy section in Istanbul has been completed and is set to open on June 19. Promoted as Turkey's longest metro ring, the line is expected to complete a significant link in the city's rail transit network.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that with the project's completion, travel time between Halkalı and Istanbul Airport will drop to 30 minutes. The new section's activation is anticipated to strengthen airport connectivity and ease transportation demand in the area.
