Hamas said it welcomed the joint stance adopted by Türkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to implement the roadmap for the Gaza Strip.
In a written statement, Hamas renewed its call for international political and diplomatic steps to be taken in response to Israel’s resistance to implementing the roadmap.
Call for new diplomatic steps
The statement said the joint position of the foreign ministers of the eight countries was important. The ministers accused Israel of obstructing efforts to end the war and called for the roadmap to be implemented.
Hamas said the points emphasized in the declaration issued by the ministers should be supported by concrete steps internationally. The movement also said it welcomed the determination to ensure the roadmap’s full and prompt implementation.
Criticism of Israel
The statement condemned the Israeli government’s rejection of the roadmap and its efforts to deny the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. It argued that this stance represented a critical threshold for regional peace and stability.
Türkiye and the other seven countries had previously condemned Israel’s refusal to implement the roadmap concerning U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza Plan.
