Health Minister Memişoğlu Launches Third Phase of SMS Invitation System for Cancer Screenings
Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu announced the launch of the third phase of the 'SMS Invitation for Cancer Screenings' application, stating they aim to send 99 million reminder SMS messages by the end of June.
Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu announced via social media that they have taken a new digital step towards early diagnosis in the fight against cancer.
Target of 99 Million SMS Messages
Minister Memişoğlu stated that they have launched the third phase of the 'SMS Invitation for Cancer Screenings' application, saying, "With this project, which we are carrying out in stages, we will have delivered 99 million reminder SMS messages to our citizens by the end of June."
He expressed that these informational messages have led to a significant increase in screening applications and have raised the success rates of treatment through early diagnosis.
Which Age Groups Should Get Which Screenings?
Memişoğlu invited citizens to three main cancer screenings according to specific age groups:
- Women aged 30-65: Cervical cancer screening
- Women aged 40-69: Breast cancer screening
- All citizens aged 50-70: Colorectal cancer screening
He reminded that these screenings can be done free of charge at Family Health Centers, Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Education Centers (KETEM), and Healthy Life Centers.
