Production ceremony held for the IONIQ 3
A ceremony was held to mark the start of mass production of Hyundai's IONIQ 3 model at its plant in İzmit. The program began with a video presentation introducing the vehicle.
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır and South Korea's Ambassador to Ankara Boo Sukjong attended the ceremony.

Türkiye–South Korea cooperation highlighted
Speaking at the ceremony, Boo Sukjong said they had gathered to establish a new understanding in the global mobility sector and mark an important turning point in economic cooperation between Türkiye and South Korea.
Boo said the IONIQ 3 reflected Hyundai Motor's vision for the future and technological capacity, adding that holding the mass production ceremony in Türkiye carried strategic importance for the partnership between the two countries.
Boo said Türkiye stood out with its deep-rooted industrial infrastructure and qualified workforce, adding that South Korean companies continued to pursue growth in advanced technology fields together with Türkiye's automotive ecosystem.
Boo said South Korea and Türkiye were not merely reliable economic partners, but also partners capable of creating new opportunities by jointly taking the lead in the high-technology sectors of the future.

New milestone for the automotive industry
Ali Kibar, chairman of the board of Kibar Holding, said Türkiye's automotive industry had crossed a new threshold in its transition to mobility.
Kibar said geopolitical tensions in the global economy had become permanent variables rather than temporary exceptions. He said capital was choosing not only the lowest-cost hubs, but also countries capable of managing overall risk, maintaining production and ensuring secure access to markets.
Kibar said Türkiye was located at the intersection of logistics and energy corridors connecting Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Black Sea basin. He said the country provided strategic assurance for production and supply chains through its strong industrial base and balanced policies.
Kibar said the economic value of Türkiye's industrial, logistics and energy infrastructure would become more visible as geopolitical tensions eased and trade flows were rebalanced.

Partnership exceeds 30 years
Kibar said cooperation between Hyundai Motor Türkiye and Kibar Holding had continued for more than 30 years, adding that the partnership had evolved into an industrial collaboration involving technology transfer, export-driven growth and numerous firsts.
The ceremony concluded after participants posed for a group photograph.
